Bluetooth - Technology & Applications
- Course Name: Bluetooth - Technology & Applications
- Duration: 2 days
- Technical Level: 3
Overview
This 2-day training course and seminar provides a clear understanding of the Bluetooth short-range wireless technology, the architecture, protocols, operation, and associated applications.
The functions and features of Bluetooth are explored, including its overriding aims and goals, what it can and can't do, it's basic operation, and how it compares to other short range wireless technologies currently on the market.
The factors driving the market for Bluetooth products are explored, including cross sector take up.
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for both non-technical and technical delegates.
Course Objectives
- List three key benefits of using Bluetooth technology
- State the:
- maximum bit rate available over a Bluetooth connection in various configurations
- maximum number of voice channels supported by any one device
- operating ranges of Bluetooth devices
- maximum number of devices, which can be simultaneously connected together
- Relate the concepts of Device Discovery and Service Discovery to the operation of a Bluetooth device
- State the purpose of the Host Controller Interface and describe how a Bluetooth host would use it to communicate with a module
- Describe how RFCOMM can be used to emulate a serial port, and how it supports different applications
- Show diagrammatically how different applications are based on specific protocols within the Bluetooth stack, and comment on the origin of each
- Identify the use and meaning of different messages from the different Bluetooth protocols
- Decode the meaning of various messages, relating them to the operation of the Bluetooth short range wireless technology
- Name two security features incorporated into the Bluetooth specification, and describe how they are implemented in terms of protocols and message flows
- Name at least five different Bluetooth foundation profiles and relate them to standard usage cases. In addition, name three post-foundation profiles
- List five Bluetooth products currently offered on the open market
- List three Bluetooth products we are likely to see in the coming 6 months
- Usefully compare Bluetooth Versions 1.1, 1.2, and 2.0 + EDR
