The Informa MVNO Business Strategy Challenge

The audience will be broken down into teams over lunch.

The objective will be to develop the Ideal MVNO Business Model, including the following elements:

  1. MVNO Concept: Your team's high level "elevator pitch"
  2. Target Market: Put together a brief description of the demographic or niche to be served by your MVNO
  3. Product, Pricing, Placement & Promotion:
    • Describe your product, including if it is voice/messaging/data, what content/features will be offered, what handset requirements will be, etc.
    • Then, how your product would be branded, priced & positioned in the market, and what your distribution strategy would be to get the product placed in the market.
    • Finally, how will your brand be promoted?
  4. Differentiation: How will your MVNO differentiate itself in the market?
  5. Funding: How much would be needed for successful launch, and how would it be raised?
Chief Judge: Whitey Bluestein, of Bluestein & Associates LLC, Strategic Advisory Services, has more than 25 years in business development, building early-stage companies, growing new businesses, managing complex business relationships, negotiating commercial and strategic deals, and creating and managing ventures and alliances in the US, Europe, Asia and Canada. He has advised several companies in the media/entertainment, wireless, retail, CRM and healthcare fields.

image Prior to returning to strategic advisor and deal making, Bluestein was Executive Vice President for Corporate and Business Development at Visage Mobile, a San Francisco-based firm specializing in providing outsourced solutions to national brands providing private label wireless services to their customers. Before Visage, Bluestein was Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer of NorthPoint Communications.
