On 8th May in Cannes, Informa Telecoms & Media and 160 Characters announced the winners for the fifth annual Mobile Messaging Awards in Cannes, the only industry awards that are solely dedicated to mobile messaging.

The winners were this year for the five different award categories:

Innovation in Messaging

Awarded to the product that has enhanced the existing messaging network by providing greater capacity, security, reliability or adds an additional application:

• Metropolitan Life's Cover2Go Delivers Insurance Policies to Cell Phone Using Clickatell SMS Gateway

Messaging Application/Service: Consumer

• Myxer Mobile Music Toolkit

Mike Short, Chairman, Mobile Data Association and one of the judges said:
