Magnus keeps a close eye on operator strategies and market developments in the European fixed-line broadband sector. The main area of focus is fixed-line regulation, next-generation network deployment and operator retail strategy. But he also monitors related topics relevant to fixed-line operators such as IP-based services like internet video, IPTV and VoIP; the connected home and related technologies, and fixed-mobile convergence.
Magnus reports extensively from conferences around Europe and beyond. While a few of these events have several thousand delegates, many of the events are smaller and more specialised, giving an honest and exclusive insight from experts who might not otherwise feature in the news. Magnus has been with Informa since August 2006, and was previously a freelancer covering telecoms regulation in emerging markets. He holds a BA in Journalism and Economics from London’s City University.
