Vodafone Egypt bubbles up

Vodafone's Egyptian operation has signed up US firm Bubble Motion to provide its voice SMS product, Mini Call Bubbletalk. According to Bubble Motion, voice SMS has established itself in Asia-Pacific, with eight operators offering the function to some 100 million users.

Richard Daly, CCO at Vodafone Egypt, commented: "Vodafone has always been first in bringing new products to market and has recognised the benefit in working with innovative partners to address specific market needs. With Bubble Motion we have been able to jointly bring MiniCall to the Egyptian market in a very short space of time. Our customers love to talk and love to send messages so MiniCall is the perfect complementary product to sit alongside our SMS service, which is already hugely popular. The early signs are that MiniCall will be very popular in Egypt and will become a real hit with our customers."

Sunil Coushik, co-founder and president of Bubble Motion commented: "We are excited to announce this deal with Vodafone Egypt, the latest in a series of operator deals for us, helping operators differentiate their offerings."
